Body Acne Treatment - FAQs
Why should you use prescription-strength treatment for your body?
Sometimes over-the-counter products just don’t cut it. Prescription-strength treatments are stronger and more effective in treating stubborn body breakouts.
What parts of the body can be treated with the body treatment?
Apostrophe’s body treatment is typically recommended for use for buttne, backne, and chestne (butt, back, and chest). You can learn more about body acne causes here.
What is the texture of the body treatment?
Apostrophe’s body treatment is a creamy acne body lotion that spreads easily onto the skin. Its smooth, creamy formula is also fragrance-free!
What products should I use alongside the body treatment?
We recommend using a benzoyl peroxide acne body wash alongside our body treatment for best results. Benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin work well together to treat body acne breakouts and prevent antibiotic resistance.
For dry skin, you may also use a moisturizing cream or lotion as needed after applying the body treatment.
How can I purchase the body treatment for my acne?
Apostrophe’s body treatment is available through prescription only.
To get started, you will be asked to submit an online consultation form with information about your medical history and skin concerns, along with photos of the affected areas.
From there, a board-certified dermatologist will review your consultation and see if our body treatment is a good fit for your skin.
Depending on the severity of your body acne, you may also be prescribed an oral medication alongside our body treatment.
If prescribed, you will be able to purchase your treatment through your Apostrophe patient account.

Will Apostrophe prescribe oral medications for my body acne?
Depending on the severity of your acne, you may be prescribed oral medications like spironolactone or oral antibiotics alongside a topical treatment to help treat your body acne. All oral medications are only prescribed as needed and under the care of an expert medical professional.
